TENSION: The TTC isn’t just a commute—it’s a daily stress test. Delays, packed cars, missed stops. It’s unpredictable, uncomfortable, and out of your control. It gets you there—but rarely how you want to feel.
KEY INSIGHT: You might be packed in like sardines—but you’re still moving. And that beats being stuck in traffic.
THE BIG IDEA: You can’t control the commute—but you can change how it feels. Turn every tap into a small moment of joy. Introducing limited-edition PRESTO collectible car(d)s. Highjack your emotions and Take a Joy Ride.
We all know her, it’s time she had a glow up.
The new Presto car(d)s will take shape luxury toy cars.
You might not be able to afford the latest Bugatti, but you can afford one of these hot rods.
You can collect them from a gashapon machine where you don’t know which vehicle you get until you open the capsule.
This XM event will be an MTV Pimp My ride style takeover of a TTC street car. making the ride a little more luxurious than it really is. Helping you joyride your commute.
THE PROTOTYPE
Here’s how you can make your own joy ride.
Take a physical presto card and fully submerge it in 100% acetone.
Let the card sit. Within 30 minutes that plastic will pull away from the RFID chip & antenna. Carefully remove the plastic with a pair of tweezers.
Take the RFID chip & antenna and repacked it. In my case I used a piece of tape to reshape to fit the bottom of a Hot Wheels Car.
With the vessel of your choosing, attached your presto card with an adhesive. And just like magic you have a joy ride.
